Recipes

This section of the site will contain information on how to model a specific variant or sub-variant; what kit to start with, what parts to modify, what aftermarket parts to add etc.  Using this information, you should be able to assemble the necessary parts to build an accurate model of any particular vehicle.

Note that these recipes provide guidelines to help you model a particular variant or sub-variant as it left the factory when new or, in the case of the 11 KV s malenkiy bashniy with F-32 guns, after overhaul.  Between the late summer of 1941 and the summer of 1942, large numbers of KV-1s were rebuilt by cannibalizing components from damaged or destroyed vehicles, resulting in a plethora of different combinations as components from different periods were combined on a single vehicle.  Good photographs should always be your ultimate guide to modeling a particular vehicle.

Kurt Laughlin provided the following summary table which is very useful in working out which kits you need in order to build particular variants.  The left-hand column in the table contains hyper-links that will take you to the specific recipe for that variant.
